About us

Each resident brings a unique story to Carillon Oaks. Let us share ours...

Our mission is to enhance quality of life for Alabama seniors by developing properties with resort-level amenities and best-in-class care in familiar places near family and friends. Our unique business model combines new construction with historic rehabilitation, allowing us to serve communities that would otherwise lack independent-living, assisted-living or memory-care facilities.

Integrity

At the core of our care commitment is integrity—doing what’s right for our residents and their loved ones, 24 hours a day. The heart of outstanding care is standing true to our word in every circumstance.

Excellence

Our residents deserve expertise in every aspect of life at Carillon Oaks. We are relentless in our pursuit of excellence through specialized training, seamless teamwork and elevated standards for every service we provide.

Community

Healthy senior living requires a thriving, stable community. We are dedicated to building community connections and a sense of place on-property, among our residents’ loved ones and within the communities surrounding each Carillon Oaks address.

A team with a mission. We live by our mission statement and core values every day at Carillon Oaks. Specially trained caregivers work closely with our management team.

Jerry Lathan

Co-founder
From the Smithsonian Institution to the Beauvoir Mansion, Jerry Lathan has been instrumental in the building, restoration and development of American landmarks. Jerry is a lifelong Alabama resident and the son of two teachers. He played baseball and basketball at Theodore High School and graduated from the University of South Alabama. Named Alabama Republican of the Year in 2008, Jerry’s professional and charitable work has been recognized with awards from regional and national groups including the American Institute of Architects.

Stuart Coleman

Co-founder

Senior living has been Stuart Coleman’s career ever since law school and business school—but he doesn’t consider it work. “Every day presents an opportunity to interact and form meaningful relationships with seniors and their families who have incredible backgrounds, experiences and stories to share,” he says. Stuart chooses staff who feel the same way and manages with that philosophy in mind.

While he brings the experience of his dual degrees—a JD from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law and an MBA from Loyola University New Orleans—to Carillon Oaks, he isn’t interested in “big box,” corporate models of care. Having worked in every facet of the industry, he’s committed to offering care that’s locally owned and operated. Stuart and his wife, Meghan, live just minutes from Carillon Oaks in Mobile. It’s a multi-generational life—when he isn’t looking after the well-being of the residents, Stuart and Meghan are occupied with the interests of their two boys Grant and Sam, ages five and seven.

Jimmie Thompson III, LNHA

He has served as vice chairman on the Healthcare Authority of the City of Anniston’s board of directors and is a graduate of Leadership Calhoun County and of its Calhoun Leaders in Management and Business program. A native of Anniston and 1992 graduate of Anniston High School, Jimmie holds a bachelor of science in accounting from Jacksonville State University. During leisure time, he enjoys time with family, golf and traveling.
